Does your entity allow citizens to rent spaces for events?
Many public entities allow citizens to utilize their facilities and property for events such as weddings, parties, graduations, festivals, and parades.
However, the users of these spaces should bring their own coverage, including property and liability.
For VRSA members, however, there is access to Event Coverage through our partner, GatherGuard. This program offers a low-cost insurance policy to protect the citizens or organizations utilizing the facility or space, as well as the public entity.
The coverage applies to bodily injury or property damage arising out of the utilization of the public entity’s premises by users. Premium costs are paid by the user and are based on several factors including the nature and length of the event, the number of participants, and the level of risk.
